Have you entered the Highland Business Awards? Time’s running out.

This Friday (9 August) is the deadline for entries for the 2019 Highland Business Awards, so if you haven’t yet submitted an entry there is still time to showcase your business’s achievements.

This is the seventh year of these prestigious awards, held as part of the annual Highland Business Week in September, and their purpose is to recognise and celebrate the achievements of businesses and individuals throughout the region.

They are a symbol of excellence, a sign of quality and a reward for staff who have helped companies achieve a significant standard of service.

The 12 award categories highlight the diverse nature of organisations that make up the business community in the Highlands and Islands and Moray; companies both big and small and representing a broad range of sectors and activities.

Outstanding Performing Small Business, Best Family Business, Exporter of the Year, Inverness & Ross-shire Business of the Year; Outstanding Performing Business (25+ Employees); Caithness & Sutherland Business of the Year, Most Promising New Business, Developing the Young Workforce, Best Social Enterprise; Young Apprentice of the Year and Best Newcomer to Exporting – there’s a category that will suit your business and promote your success.

We are also still taking nominations for the individual title of Business Leader of the Year. I’m sure there are plenty of candidates for this illustrious accolade.

While winning is the ultimate goal in these ceremonies, the Highland Business Awards are about more than just handing out trophies.  The process of entering can encourage a re-assessment of what companies are doing and why, stimulate discussion on how to better achieve goals and prompt innovation to stay ahead in highly competitive fields.

The cumulative effect is to help businesses continue to strive to improve which can help Inverness Chamber in sustaining a successful business environment in this region.

The Highland Business Awards and Highland Business Week are organised by Inverness Chamber of Commerce and are supported by Scottish Provincial Press as media partner.
