Café Artysans is located in the heart of Inverness, the perfect spot for those heading to/from the train or bus stations, or a welcome break from a strenuous shopping trip! In the Café, customers can check out their range of Ness Soaps products.  These are produced in their Ness Soaps enterprise, where young people are involved in the production, packaging and distribution to the hospitality industry and both retail and corporate customers.

We spoke to Amy Moore, who is currently on a ScotGrad placement with Calman as Marketing Officer before returning to University to complete her masters degree in International Marketing Management. Amy’s role over her summer placement is to create a marketing plan for Calman which communicates the message of the Trust, whilst also highlighting the commercial business enterprises: Café Artysans, Ness Soaps and Catering by Artysans.

Ness Soaps are currently going through a re-brand of our packaging to reflect the luxury nature of the products. Their website is currently being updated, with an online shop due to launch in the near future!
Calman Trust took advantage of the Member of the Week opportunity to raise awareness of what they do to help improve the life chances of young people in the Highlands, but also to highlight the high-quality products and services they offer through their enterprises.

Did you know Café Artysans, who were recently been awarded a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, also runs a catering service, which has recently been renamed ‘Catering By Artysans’, providing catering for events such as business lunches, weddings, networking events and much more! In January this year, Café Artysans opened at the Muir Hub in Muir of Ord. This was recently visited by HRH Princess Royal, who was very impressed with the café and the work that Calman Trust does.

Amy told us what she values most about Chamber Membership: “Being provided with a network of contacts in the local area, which means that organisations can help each other and lead to a more successful local economy. The Chamber emphasises the importance of local businesses and the advantages of businesses working simultaneously”.

Amy also added her ‘top tip’ to members to make the most of their membership: “Ensure that you make time to attend some of the fantastic events put on by the Chamber as they are really beneficial and great for networking”.
