Member of the Week - Eagle Consulting

Sinead Bell is Business Development Manager at Eagle Consulting, a firm providing accounting services to over 750 clients across the UK and Europe.  We caught up with her to find out more about the firm’s local presence:

“I work in a small team with Charlotte Watson, Business Development Assistant, and Shaun Moat in Marketing.  I go out and meet clients to understand their needs and put a solution in place.  I also am first point of contact for our 750 clients to ensure the high standard of service we expect at Eagle Consulting is being achieved every day.  My working week can vary - one week I can be here in Inverness and then the next I can be in London or across Europe meeting new and exciting clients.”

The founding principle of Eagle Consulting was to become the accounts department for its clients, offering a flexible service to accommodate the fluctuating needs of businesses.  By managing all the administration and complexities of its clients' accounting requirements, providing vital information, advice and support, it enables owners and managers to focus on growing their business. 

23 years since gaining its first client, this remains true.  Eagle Consulting now employs 70 members of staff and, through careful recruitment, the firm has built a highly experienced team with knowledge across all areas of accounting.  The firm continually invests in technology to ensure it has the best software and most robust security in place.  According to Sinead:

“This allows us to combine the use of sophisticated, leading edge systems with our extensive expertise to provide our clients with a fully integrated, tailored accounting function.  Above all, we care.  We take the time to get to know our clients, to understand their business and their requirements, allowing us to tailor our service to each client.  This approach, combined with our commitment to providing the highest possible quality of service, has created a loyal and diverse client base throughout the UK and Europe with whom we have established long-term relationships, supporting them as their needs change and develop.”

A hugely topical issue regarding business accountancy needs is payroll – a service which Eagle Consulting is keen to promote.  Whether your business employs one member of staff or one thousand, Eagle Consulting uses a dedicated payroll bureau to ensure your payroll meets your requirements.  Sinead said:

“The technical requirements of running a payroll are becoming ever more complex – as well as calculating net pay, tax and other deductions, the introduction of new legislation continually increases the burden placed on payroll managers.  Our dedicated payroll bureau ensures your payroll is accurate, compliant and paid on time.”

The team at Eagle Consulting hope to develop the firm over the next five years – with some specific goals in mind.  The aim is to become a sustainable Management Accounting practice that will rank within the top 50 Accounting Practices in the UK by turnover, with profit conversion and stable growth of a minimum of 20% year on year. 

The firm was shortlisted as a finalist at 2016’s Highland Business Awards – a fantastic achievement for any business, let alone a business who is entering an award for the first time.  Sinead and the team recognise that events such as the Highland Business Awards are a fantastic way to network with other local businesses throughout the year:

“Attend events as it is easier to network and build relationships with other members face to face then it is via email.”
