Private Client Department

Innes & Mackay’s Private Client department is flourishing.  Initially specialising in Wills, Powers of Attorneys and Executries, the team have expanded their expertise over the last nine years to include Trusts (including contentious Trusts and Will disputes), Guardianships, and Mental Health (including Adults with Incapacity).

The team is led by Lisa Law who is an accredited specialist in Incapacity and Mental Disability Law. Solicitor Lauren Young also practices exclusively in the Private Client department. The team is made up of Lisa and Lauren along with 2 trainee solicitors; Eilidh Bain and Eve Cooper, as well as Lisa Sime, who is a highly experienced Paralegal.

As well as advising clients, the department provides practical information about Wills, Trusts, Executries, Adults with Incapacity, and Guardianships to clients and the wider community at lectures and training sessions.

Lisa Law has recently been accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in incapacity and mental disability law.  With only 8 other accredited professionals in this field across Scotland, Lisa joins an elite group.  Known for their personable and caring style, the department is widely acknowledged as the Highland’s ‘go to’ team for issues relating to Wills, Executries, Trusts, Adults with Incapacity (including Guardianships and Powers of Attorney) and other sensitive practice areas.  Indeed, it was this reputation which was the basis for the firm being the first in the Highlands to be invited to join Solicitors for Older People Scotland.  The firm remains one of only two Highland firms in this group.
