Member of the Week - Invergordon Tours
Gavin Nicholson was working in Australia as a crocodile farmer and returned to Scotland after hurting his back. His mum suggested doing something with the cruise ships arriving on their doorstep in Invergordon so he created a website and slowly started growing his business. They’re now one of the busiest private operators at the port and last year launched Inverness Whisky Tours in response to the increase in people looking for quality whisky tours of the Highlands and Speyside in a luxury vehicle.
Gavin works with his niece, Shannon, plus he has two driver-guides who work for him and a dedicated team of freelance driver-guides who work on an ad-hoc basis.
Gavin has been responsible for growing the business since 2012 which has meant doing a lot of tours and building their reputation on Trip Advisor which is very important part of the business. Gavin has also spent a lot of time establishing a team of dedicated driver-guides who have been an integral part of growing the business.
We asked Gavin why Invergordon Tours would like to feature as member of the week: “I just want more people to know we exist and to raise the profile of Inverness Whisky Tours as the go to luxury tour company in the Highlands. Whether it's for a whisky tour or one of our other very popular tours around the Scottish Highlands.”
Invergordon Tours are also pleased to now be offering Inverness Whisky Tours. Feature luxury airport transfers with a kilted highland driver-guide and bespoke luxury tours of the Scottish Highlands with a knowledgeable and friendly driver-guide. You can visit their whisky tours here: InvernessWhiskyTours.com
Gavin shared with us his business plans over the coming year: “To establish InvernessWhiskyTours.com as the number one luxury private tour company in the Scottish Highlands.”
Invergordon Tours are pleased to share they have received the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2016-2018 and expecting another one for 2019 all going well!
We asked Gavin what he values most about his Inverness Chamber of Commerce membership: “The support offered by the Chamber and the chance to network with other members.”
Gavin provided his top-tip for other Chamber members to maximise their Inverness Chamber membership: “Go to as many of the events and networking opportunities as you can. It really is a case of you get out what you put in.”
