Member of the Week - Justom Ltd
Initially established as a sole trader in February 2013, business has proved to be booming for Justom Ltd – a firm which provides cleaning services to both residential and commercial premises in and around Inverness. Now employing 19 members of staff, Justom Ltd celebrates its 4th birthday this month and we caught up with business owner and company director, Thomas Machnik, to find out more:
“My main role is focusing on the strategy of the business and its performance. I look after all the paperwork and make sure we comply with all necessary legislations. Justyna is also an owner and director – her role is on the operational side of the business, looking after the staff and customers; she makes sure that all our team members know what they are doing and that they’re doing it right. Justyna trains every member of the team to achieve the standards we aim for.”
Although Justom overs both residential and commercial cleaning services, Thomas and the team are keen to promote two areas specifically: office cleaning and holiday let housekeeping. Indeed, the Justom team currently provide cleaning services to the Inverness Chamber of Commerce offices!
High quality holiday let housekeeping for self catering properties, B&Bs and hotels is something which Thomas is extremely proud of. The firm is also in the process of improving the provision of services by implementing a new software system which will better enable them to track the time keeping of their employees and their performance.
We asked Thomas why Justom wanted to feature as Member of the Week:
“It is a great marketing opportunity for every business and in the line of business we are it is a great time of the year. We want to continue growing the business over the next 12 months, with the main focus being on commercial cleaning, i.e. offices, sites, new build premises. We are a Scottish Living Wage Employer and are currently working towards achieving ISO9001 and ISO14001.”
On Chamber membership, Thomas said:
“It gives me great opportunity to promote the business (not that I ever made a use of it). I hope to be able to work more with the Chamber and start using all the tools and opportunities this membership has to offer. My ‘top tip’ would be to keep in regular contact with the Chamber to learn about upcoming events and get to know other members. People in the Highlands like to do business with other people and it is important to have the personal connections.”
According to Thomas, the vast majority of Justom’s customers come to the firm on the back of recommendations through word of mouth, something which the team are extremely proud of. To get in touch with Justom, please visit the website here.
