Member of the Week - Logical Print & Document Solutions

Formerly Danwood Highland, Logical Print & Document Solutions has been trading for over a decade. Last year, for many reasons, they took the decision to end our partner agreement with a national company to revert to becoming a completely local business again thus launching as Logical. Becoming 100% local again was a key element for Logical going forward as well as having the opportunity to provide a first-class service which they were in full control of and, as such, Logical have invested heavily in this important resource. Their straplines also make statements about they we are and what they do:

-Logical Solutions from a Local Perspective

-Now the Largest that’s Completely Local

Logical operate out of their new, Inverness based head office and cover the whole of the north of Scotland with offices in Aberdeen, Elgin and Lerwick.

We spoke to Paul Macleod who has been involved within the industry for 20-years starting off as an Account Executive and working my way up to directorship level. Paul said: “Over the years I have account managed many businesses ranging from sole proprietors to large corporates and now utilise this experience to provide our customers with best-fit solutions to their print and document requirements. I oversee all aspects of the business and head up the sales division.”

We asked Paul how Logical could benefit from member of the week: “To help raise our profile and promote the fact that Logical is now a completely local company again.”

Logical would like to make you aware of the security and safety services they can offer in light of recent GDPR regulations. Paul said: “We are all very much aware of the need for GDPR compliance and Multifunctional Devices form a vital part of most organisations’ document workflows and business processes, and as such, are a potential weak spot with regards to information and network security. We offer a comprehensive range of advanced security solutions, including Data Security Kits, which are designed to protect your confidential information while it is being printed, copied, scanned and faxed or transmitted over your network.”

Paul continued: “Many organisations are simply paying too much for colour output. Our innovative three-tier colour coverage system automatically calculates the colour toner used to produce each page. It then records the page against one of three meters depending on the level of colour usage – meaning you will only ever pay for the colour that you have used. We have used this strategy for many businesses where the only colour on most pages is, for example, a logo or a few lines of highlighted text.”

We asked Paul about Logical’s business plans over the next 12 months: “To grow our client base throughout the north of Scotland providing cutting-edge print and document solutions via our trusted partners. Unfortunately, some of our customers are still being serviced by a national company but we plan to migrate them all over to Logical so that they can be looked after from a 100%, local perspective.”

Logical are also the exclusive Sharp and Utax partners throughout the whole of the north of Scotland.

We asked Paul what he values most about membership: “The Chamber membership is so strong that we value the opportunity to network and market ourselves amongst its many members.”

Paul’s ‘tip-tip’ for other Chamber members to maximise their Chamber membership would be to: “Visit as many events as you possibly can and utilise the resources that the Chamber and its team has to offer.”
