Now employing over 65 members of staff, the firm have in this time developed a full range of legal, property and financial services enabling them to effectively and efficiently deal with and respond to the needs of clients, whether individuals or businesses. The firm are delighted to be shortlisted as finalists in this year's Legal Awards of Scotland in the Family Law Firm of the Year category, against very strong central belt competition. The final is on 30th March in Edinburgh and the Family Law team are extremely proud to have reached this stage.

Over the course of this week, we’ll be looking at various units within Macleod and MacCallum including: Lettings Department, Property Department, Rural Land, Private Client, and Family Law. Today’s focus is the Family Law team.

Family Law

The award-winning Family Law team at Macleod and MacCallum comprises Directors, Morag MacIntosh and Fiona Campbell, and Associates Jenna Thomson and Scott Dallas, making them the largest and most specialised Family Law team based in the Highlands.

Morag and Fiona are both accredited by The Law Society of Scotland as Family Law Specialists and Fiona is also accredited as a Family Law Mediator and a Family Law Arbitrator.  All four Family Law Solicitors are qualified Collaborative Lawyers, meaning the team offer the full range of Dispute Resolution options including Mediation, Collaboration and Arbitration as well as Court Action.

The team offer advice on a full range of family law and child law matters including separation/divorce, residence/contact disputes (sometimes known as custody/access), parental rights and responsibilities, adoption, protective orders such as interdicts and pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements.

Every client's situation is different and the team always try to minimise, where possible, the emotional and financial consequences that often result in relationship breakdown and tailor services to meet individual client's needs.  In particular, the team are highly experienced in dealing with complex financial settlements on separation or divorce and are able to draw on expertise from other departments in the firm, such as our Corporate and Commercial department to provide clients with a seamless service where separating couples have business interests/assets.

Each Team member is enthusiastic and committed when dealing with clients, recognising that every client is an individual with their own particular circumstances.  Whilst the Team never know what new challenges a day will hold, what they do know is that with their combined experience, expertise and commitment, they are able to advise their clients and provide solutions that are best for them.

More information on the team and the services they offer can be found on the website.
